Bay At Marblehead Lighthouse

On a recent trip to the mid-west, our family took a day trip north to have lunch at Mon Ami winery in Catawba, then visit the historic Marblehead Lighthouse.  It was a beautiful summer day and folks were out and about. I was hoping to catch the man fishing on the right with the sailboats in the background – just so happens that 2 speedboats came into frame as well.  The area is known for it’s limestone – which is the stone in this photo – and there were quarries nearby still in business. (Just as an aside, one of my previous posts was of the Biltmore Mansion, which was made out of limestone). After a fun day of activities we ended the day with a trip to the ice cream parlor.
