While in the Philippines over Christmas one year, we took a boat tour that would be similar to white-water rafting here in the US. This photo shows the ‘boatmen’ who sit in the front and back of the canoes and who literally – yes literally – carry your canoe (with you in it!) over the rocks to get to the falls. It was an absolutely crazy, fun, pulse-racing, how-are-they-doing-this event and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. If you are ever in the Philippines, I highly suggest taking this awesome ride . . .

Thanks Dennis! Oh – I couldn’t do their job either! It was really impressive how they knew where to go, exactly where on the rocks to plant their feet and steer the canoes. Very skilled!
